I understand different cultures have different philosophies concerning cats and dogs, but what makes me sick is when people who are from cultures where dogs and cats are considered 'companion animals' abuse and even kill animals for the sake of entertainment or 'kicks' do sick things to a pet...what really p*sses me off is DOG FIGHTING. And just as bad is COCKFIGHTING. Why do some people get their thrills from participating in or watching such barbaric 'sports'? Are the criminal penalties for those who participate in such cruelty strict enough..or too lenient in your opinion?

with animal abuse it's either
a) a SERIOUS control issue
or
b) a psychopath
both suck. animal abuse sucks. people who do it are LOSERS!

I don't know how a person that cruel could live with themselves! But there are punishments for them. Like if your caught doing either of those things, dog fighting and cock fighting, you could go to jail for a long time for cruelty to animals. But, there is punishment and if you ask me I think the punishment should be harsher and should be advanced.
~ PPL, if you're someone who abuses your animals in anyway all I have to say is this, GET A LIFE and also F**K You! Animals have feelings too and what the heck is wrong with you! You need help!

Some people just like knowing that they have control over something in their lives. It is the most sickning thing anyone can do to a poor defenseless animal, but the sad truth is that a lot of people do hurt their animals. All that everyone else can do is discourage these people and volunteer at their local animal shelters and help the poor animals that do sadly get abused.

Very, very few breeds are intended to be just "companions". Even those breeds benefit from the mental and physical exercise that is a critical component of work. But there are far too many people out there who believe that a dog that is allowed to work is somehow abused. Prop them up on a couch and never tell them no or fear being called "abusive". In my book, as long as the dogs are loved and well cared for - MORE POWER TO THEM. Let the dogs do something they love to do; something that they are more than capable of doing. Try not to let it get to you, Launi. Trust me, these people will just serve to spike your blood pressure and they often cannot be reasoned with.

i know...it really makes me mad when i watch "Animal Rescuers"
i see what the poor dogs and cats owner do to them.....it is cruel and people that do that should be arrested right away......i actually spoil my cat because she is the only pet i have.her name is muffin and i love her soo much.i would never do anything to hurt her.but i know what you are talking about and that is the same way i feel.

I agree with you. I feel really bead for anilmals who have to go through that ****. Animal cruelty shoul be illegal and has to be stopped in all countries
