Cramps can be relieved by extra water, sit ups, and midol - though I use wild yam cream, which helps progesterone production and I think that is the most helpful on so many levels. Talk to you dr or mom about it: http://www.mynsp.com/carole/products/guide.aspx?stockNum=4936

Peace!

If your period pain is that bad, then you really should go to a gynecologist. Painful periods could be a sign of endometriosis which is a progressive disease. Your gyne. might prescribe birth control pills which will really help. Take Advil or other type of ibuprofen like Aleve the day before your period starts and during the worst days of your period. These are anti inflammatories and halt the prostaglandins that cause pain. Don't be afraid of using medication if you really need it.

I have the same problem. I usually heat a plain tortilla in the microwave for 30 sec. It's a temporary relief and taking a bath also helps me.

but I usually have to take Tylenol or something...eventually.

Try midol, tylenol or advil. And try to follow a better diet throughout the month, that helps too. Exercise also. Also placing warm things, like a warm cloth or something that helps also.

through "pill" do you propose birth control? if so then you truly can take menstrual relief pills modern-day in any drug save. in case you propose with out taking any type of pills then use a heating pad, warm bath, or a rub down from someone.

Exercising is a good way or if you're sitting or lying down try a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel or a heat pad rested on your stomach.

This could be because of muscle fatigue or dehydration. Why don't you try some time tested home remedies? I found this website very useful. http://aches.in/cramps.html
