A bootleg copy is an illegal copy. Both the buyer and the seller can be arrested for being in possession of bootleg goods if caught. It's a violation of Federal Copyright Laws.

A bootleg copy is a copy of something (DVD or Music CD, for example) that did not go through the proper channels. It is illegal and they are usual available before the item has been released for purchase.

T-Lee is right. A bootleg is an unauthorized recording that is sold for profit. Like, if you went to a Dave Matthews concert with a tape recorder and turned it into a CD to sell, that's a bootleg.

Bootlegging is illegal, music and movies most artist want you to buy their cd or movie. Not download it from illegal sites and burn it on a cd or dvd.
In most bootlegs for movies, its someone sitting in a movie theater and filming it with their camcorder, and tells you i have the new blah blah blah on dvd.

a bootleg is an illegal copy of something...either made without permission or sold without the royalties being paid to the people who mmade it...
