im writing a paper on the nigeria law saying you cant meet with a gay person in public and if you're caught you can face up to five years in prison?! Thanks!!!!

Well, how many words do you have to play with? If this is for publication, the shorter the better. Fifty words is far more apt to be published than 500.

Then there is the ethics of creating a conversation (fiction!) to make a non-fiction point. If you can actually quote someone, that's stronger - much stronger.

I'd say it depends on the publication. If you've seen them publish that sort of editorial before, then go for it. REMEMBER keep it SHORT.

I would start on an interesting topic or question to get the reader thinking. Thats what I did on mine.
