White males have been the butt of the joke on commercials since the 80's. When will it end?

To show that we were good sports, we allowed blacks to throw jabs at us publically. This started in the 80's when blacks were complaining of mistreatment. Now, here we are today, 25 years later and these public deceptions are still taking place on our airwaves. I am a traveler of several countries and I've yet to see anything even close to these commercials resemble how things are in the real world. What kind of people see this as a good selling strategy? I see it as a slap in the face to the white race, both male and female. This is modern day descrimination. We owe black people nothing. They owe us nothing. When will this be a level playing field? All this does is sends the wrong message to the white kids telling them that it's ok to date black kids. It's not ok. What this is doing is lowering the self estiem of the young white males in our country. They are growing up taught that they come second to blacks. Look at these kids today. They are all screwed up.

I know the kind of commercial you are talking about but to act like this is a slap against white is just another example of you exposing your bigotry.

This is more an example of modernday Political Correctness. If there is a black man and a white man & we want one to be laughed at, PC demands that it must not be the black guy, so it is the white guy.

One zip-lock baggie commercial show two women turning their baggie upside down to show how strong they are. Of couarse, the white woman is holding the "other brand" so the spaggetti sauce spills allover her white shoes. Same with the Reynold's Foil commercials. The Black woman demonstrates how easy & neat it is with their brand & the white woman is stuck with the messy &harder method without Reynold's foil. This PC rule also applies to the sexes. If there is a man and a woman, the woman will have the right product, information or method.

But it is absolutely no big deal. Why are you so hypersensitive about it?

I find it very difficult to understand how you came to such a conclusion. Every form of media in America places the White male as the standard and vilifies all other races. I'm not seeing these commercials that you are watching, but every commercial I've seen puts the white man in a positive light. Everyone wants to be white. People everywhere dye their hair blonde and get blue contacts. It's ludicrous. All other races self-hate themselves so much.

Besides, white men own the majority of wealth and control all the power in this country, if not the world. So what are you complaining about. Bill Gates? white. Steve Jobs? white. George W. Bush? white.

Stop this white male victimization syndrome. You have nothing to be a victim about. You've owned the world for so long and you whine when the rest of us try to get some of it back. No one feels sorry for you.

Umm, Jessie Jackson and people like him are why this goes on in America. The "black man" can poke fun but when the white man starts poking back they get up tight and call it racism. It began way before the 80s my friend. Left wing liberals, hippies if you will started the whole thing. The best thing i think can be done about it is to push back weather they like it or not. Wait, why isn't it OK for white kids to date black kids?

The reason why white males are portrayed comically (they are also portrayed positively and in powerful positions) is because the writers of these ads are mostly white and they cater to a white audience. We are just displaying what is called a sense of humor. I don't think that when a white ad character does something stupid that it means to represent the entire white race is stupid. What white people did to black characters in the 60s was completely different. Writers would portray the characters in the way they saw the entire race, which was wrong.

The majority of ethnic minorities in the United States have massive inferiority complexes. This is especially true of blacks and Hispanics. There are only two ways to market to them:

1.) Use their own kind to exploit their low self-esteem with commercial goods ("Yo, dawg, wait 'til De'Quan sees you with these $30,000 Rent-a-Rims!")

2.) Make fun of the people they've been to led believe are the sole cause of their failings as individuals and as an ethnic group.

it really is a double usual. i don't like it both. that's really through historic past of how blacks and different minorities were treated through whites. that's basically more desirable emotionally charged at the same time as whites make jokes about different races. It ability more desirable, you recognize. And that's almost like an implied chance or something. that's not an same at the same time as different races snigger at whites because there is not this lengthy historic past of different races oppressing whites. I'm afraid that I agree for the most part. Have you seen the commercial, can't remember which one it is about the big shot bankers. This black dude is stringing this large group of rich looking old white guys, supposed to be bankers around I guess. He makes total fools out of them. I even wrote an email to the company I was so offended. No, I'm not saying black people should be made fun of, just that I agree with what you're saying; it sucks.

In 2025 once Mexicans are the majority, then you can make all the fun of mexicans you want you want since you won't be acting like a racist becasue they are majority rule, then in about another 100 years or so once mixed breeds are the majority, because pure breeds will think they are better, but the minority.
