Well yes you would have to be caught!! And yes it is an instant fine!! There is no stopping on double red lines!!

if you park on double red lines you will be charged if caught by either police, traffic warden or any other official but be warned you could come back only to find your car missing and in a police compound, more that just a parking fine no pay bill no get car car sold

Someone has to see you before they can fine you. Often these are policed from camera's either static ones or mobile camera's sited onboard the buses using the route. xxxx

yes you can be fined and you can be towed away as well if you are that unlucky its happened to me
