Very common....once they figure out something feels good, they do it. She should grow out of it, but don't make her feel like it's a terrible thing to do.....my boys can't keep their hands off of themselves.....ah well.....

VERY normal. But don't encourage it or draw attention to it. I had a child who would do it any where and if you stopped her it was so embarrassing. Then you need to encourage it at home in her own room. there is a time and a place for everything. Or put a diaper cover (or diaper) on a little snugger then normal. I have been a nanny for 18 yrs and have only had the one. At least under the age of 14. :)

If you have checked her for itchy areas or redness, then she is just found a new area of her body. I would keep clothes on her that prevent her from getting to it.
Sometimes they get irritated and barely pink, but it itches and they wanna pinch and scratch. Try looking closely and see if there is a bit of whitish discharge. If so, could be a little infection causing an itch. If not, wash her up good and put some prohibiting clothes on her. She may have a habit and just needs to learn to break it. GL

I think it's pretty normal for a young child to play with their privates. They're learning about life, and their sensory and motors skills are kicking in. They want to touch and feel and understand the way things work. This is also very common for kids when they are starting to be potty trained.

She is at the age where they use touch and taste to learn about the world. Remember when she would always grab her feet? Well this is just another body part. You, as an adult, know what that particular body part is used for but she doesn't. She just knows that it's another part of her body that she is trying to learn about. Just like when she grabed her feet all the time, she will eventually move onto something else. And don't make her feel bad for touching herself.

It's normal. Once a child discovers a new part of their body they are fascinated by it for a while. There is nothing sexual about what she is doing, at least not to her. Just make sure it isn't something that is done in public. She'll grow out of it in a bit.

I have a son who does the same thing when he was about that old, now he is months old and not as curious....He started that when he was about, i think, its just 11 months, he pulled on it once and it hurted him but he was curious, i thought that was so cute.... i even recorded it also.... I believe it is just a stage they all through..... dont worry too much about it... good luck....

It is normal and it's not weird.. just wait til she hits three. Children go through those stages of exploring their own bodies and that's normal development.

It is normal for infants...clothing will provide a deturrent and as the child gets older and can understand you explain behaviours that are unacceptable.
