Nope. Iraq elected a majority Islamic Shiite government with strong ties to Iran. The Bush League Democracy plan totally backfired. There will be no "victory" in Iraq. Bush has one last desperate hail mary, expanding the war ro Iran, hoping against hope that an expansion would boost support.

did YOU actually read the article? the politician making the comments has ties to Iran... or did you miss that part?
Do you think that a man in the pocket of Iran and who hosting Iranian officials with the intent of aiding the insurgents in Iraq, do you think his view might be a little one sided?
do you think he is going to say "yes send more troops!"
or do you think he has his own motives for keeping the military presence in Iraq weak?
The guy is a Shia! you realize this right? the people leading the insurgent movement!
He may be"close" to the US (which i doubt) but you don't think he has other motives considering his ties to Iran?
do any of these observations sink in?

George W Bush should send a large % of these troops back to AFGHANISTAN - the REAL SOURCE of the "war on terrorism" to replace the ones he had withdrawn and re-deployed to Iraq leaving UK/NATO troops -( who were asked to help US troops out in AFGHANISTAN) grossly under-manned and under-resourced in thier absence - which, as I understand it, is NOT the "source of this latest "war on terrorism"...
I accept, I COULD be wrong in my assumption about AFGHANISTAN being the real source of this "war on terror" and UK/NATO troops were asked for by George W Bush to help US troops out there.. in which case I'm sure someone will be quick to put me right !
