Ok, please don't report me because I just want to know the answer to this quesiton. My friends and I were shopping and we got some underwear (thongs) and my mom found one of them in the dryer about 4 months ago, and she got really really mad! Ok, so I don't know what her deal is. What age/grade did you or do you think is appropriate? Thank you!

Nothing is wrong with a thong they are more comfortable to me. I only wear full bottom underwear under dresses, skirts and to bed. I think I started wearing them in middle school.

She is probably mad at you because you didn't tell her that and also thongs are considered to be sexy underwear. These days most women wear them because they want to hide their panty line which is fine. Tell her why you bought them. And wear them because you want to not because it's cool and sexy. I personally think that most girls your age wear them because they want attention and look a little s l u t y when they wear them higher than their pants. I hope your mom understands your opinion but if she says no then move on.

Many moms would feel the way your mom does. I think that thongs are just underwear personally. I mean what girl even at 12 wants people looking at her pantylines. I think that would just bring more attention to her butt. As long as you wear your jeans wear the thong isnt hanging out I don't see a problem with it.

I personally did not start wearing thongs until after I had graduated from high school but some girls start earlier. If I was a mom and I had a daughter, I would not want her to wear thongs or sexy under wear until she was at least 17. Thongs sometimes are not a big problem if a girl is wearing a dress, but when she wears them all the time.....I don't know......maybe it means she wants someone to see them. Don't try to grow up too fast, keep your innocence.

ok my mom reacted the same way and they do because the underwear they think that we should be wearing is something that covers everything and isnt butt floss now i think 9th grade is fine considering younger girls wear them and theres nothing wrong with wearing them as long as you dont let them hang out for the world to see some parents see them as a sign of sex so talk to your mom and tell her your resons for wearing them and answer any questions she may have and be open with her

I have 2 girls (12/13) and I don't let them wear thongs. I think that 18 is a more appropriate age to wear them because you would then be an adult.

Well, how old are you?! Thongs are asking for sex. If you're not old enough for sex, and by that I mean a truly decent age like 18 at least, then you shouldn't be wearing thongs. If I were your mother, that's what I would say. I wouldn't just get mad, I'd take 'em away.

If you are old enough to shop without your mother along, you can buy thong underwear.
You mom is prolly just having a hard time accepting that you are growing up.

Im in 7th grade and I wear thongs,practicly all my friends do.Explain to your mom that just because you wear thongs,doesent mean you are going to have sex,or show it off.Tell her it is because you need them when you wear pants like so lows.

o.k i think you should first say to your mom , you are so sorry what you did and than just tell her that you did not know that you can wear a (thongs) and you just think that it is just underwear and it will be o.k with you but now i know i can't. and if that did not work just buy her something she likes.
