what is the rule for this problem? a lady what's to start a catering business. she'll spend 1500 on a oven, 150 on cooking racks, 425 on serving platters, 69 for advertising, 200 on food per job. pay her cousin 55 every job she works, and charge 425 per job. whats the rule(equation)?

You add up all the fixed costs like oven, racks, crockery. Then you add the overheads, expenses for food, staff. The advertising is unclear, if it's a once-off campaign you add it with the fixed starting costs (capital), otherwise you'll have to factor in monthly costs as overheads.
If you deduct the overheads from the price she charges you'll find out after how many jobs she'll have recovered the start capital, and how many jobs she'll need to be able to live on the business. Don't forget to put in a sum for replacement of crockery and other equipment, which also goes into overheads, the same is true for energy and transport costs.
Unless you state the problem precisely that's all anyone can do for you, I'm afraid.

If you are asking what she should charge, it's double her expenses at least. Obviously as you become more established, you can raise your rates.

its a stupid question.only an illegal immigrant would do a catered event for $55.00 per.
