My vote is the EVO, but I love Mitsus. The big thing about it is that the engine in the Evo is tried, tested, and improved upon throughout the Eclipse(1st & 2nd Generations) and the Japanese Evolution models. The Subaru has a much newer deign engine, which does not have the background of the Mitsubishi 4G63. They are both excellent platforms with good balance and handling. I forget what the name of the show was, but it was on the Speed channel, but anyway, they faced a $35,000 Evo against a $100,000 Lamborgini Murcielago, and it was a good race on the street course. Just something to think about.

The WRX STI is more reliable, higher quality and has a bit more horsepower. The EVO has slightly better torque at lower speeds and slightly more balanced handling.

Mitsubishi's horrible reliability problems make it a no brainer. The Subaru is the superior choice. Supercar performance, AWD and solid Japanese reliability. Sure the doors weigh 2 ounces and it feels a bit like a Japanese tin box compared to a solid European car, but it is an all around killer package at a price that cannot be beat for what you get.

Here are a couple pros and cons. But, I believe Subaru's are known for better reliability then Mitsubishi. Subaru focuses on only a few Hi performance cars, while Mitsubishi makes everything from cars to cranes. In addition Subaru basically uses 1 type of engine in its cars, the flat four. This allows them to focus on refining 1 motor compared to dozens. In addition the unique layout of the flat four gives the front end a more balanced layout for better handling.

WRX is better than Evo. First is because of engine design of WRX. It can easyly reach the 'power' at low RPM. Then is the weight ratio of the car. Erm... I've test it with my friend. We take both the to a road on mountain then choose the same corner. WRX can take the corner with a higher speed than Evo. Mayb' Evo have top speed but remember top speed is nothing in real life. Hope you get what you need.
PEACE~

Impreza, never cared for Mitsu. Subaru boxer engines are much more durable than the engines in lancers.
