I have to write an equation for this problem.
A basketball team scored 90 points during their last game. If 54 of those points were 2-point shots, how many three point shots were made?

Also- A rectangular poster has a perimeter of 216 inches. The legnth of the poster is twice the width. What is the width of the poster?

ok 90 points total -54 2 point shots=36 36/3=12

2x+2x+x+x=216
6x=216
x=216/6
x=36

Second: l=2*w and perimeter=2*l+2*w=216

This gives 4*w+2*w=216=>6*w=216=>width=36 inches
