Of course it does.

It seems to me that if your honesty and integrity are important to you, it's logical to be upset if someone questions it.

Am I missing something here?

Good question! just some random thoughts:

Well it's obviously not going to be particularly 'enjoyable' especially when people use it as a last resort in defense of their own lack of integrity.

If people don't know you, there's no reason for them to automatically assume you're being honest with them though you know? Also, if they are generally dishonest themselves, they are more likely to be suspicious of others automatically as well.

That said, if you are generally honest and acting with integrity (especially when no one's looking), your integrity won't be questioned near as often and when it does, it won't bother you to the point of upsetting you.

If it significantly upsets me if someone doesn't automatically believe everything that comes out of my mouth, that says more about me than it does anyone else.

After all, being completely honest with *ourselves* 100% of the time is not really possible--and when we're not honest with ourselves about something, we can't be honest with someone else about it. Therefore, having our integrity and honesty questioned once in a while is probably good for keeping us in check.

In the end, it doesn't significantly bother me unless:
1. I am not being honest with myself or another person (it's good to take this personally!)
2. They are using it simply as a plastic attack to take attention away from their own integrity issue (and if you understand this at the time, it's easier not to take it personally).

No, if they don't trust what I am saying then it is no longer my problem, it's theirs. And when it comes to integrity. If someone says i'm lacking integrity or challenges my integrity then more often than not I consider what the have said because they may be right and I may need to make some changes.

It does because, my honesty and integrity is a part of who I am, and when a person questions that about me then they question who I am...

Nope. They can question both till the cows come home. I have nothing to hide. I know I'm honest, and my integrity is inherent of my honesty.

of course! i dun see why they should question my honesty!
im always honest cause i cant find the point in lying, if they dont like what i say, well then what can i do? ppl have different opinions in life, and the person will just have to get over it!

No, that is a chance to prove my honesty or integrity.

No it won't upset me 'coz I don't need to prove anything to no one, if they have a problem with my honesty and my integrity, it is their problem and not mine.

Yes i do. I never steal anything and I don't lie to anyone. I've never given anyone i know that i will take anything or lie to them. So why accuse me of it. Some people always think people are dishonest, or stealing from them. I hate it. I will never accuse anyone I call a friend of taking anything from me unless I have no doubt that they did it. I give them the benefit of the doubt.
