2. i don't have anything against this golie but why is Ryan Miller starting? no offense he's good but not great, marty brodeur is the world record holding one, the world famous one and also the one who's either second or first in every catagorie for goalies? is it juts because he's buffalo's goalie?

To answer your first question, you can't play in both games. Malkin might have caught the league by surprise, but it was still possible to vote him in by write-in vote.

To answer your question about Miller, I can tell you're only looking at stats and not the whole picture. Miller's stats are artificially low, as Emery's are artifically high. Miller would have better numbers if not for rebound goals, defensive lapses in front of him, and an aggressive offense that sacrifices defense in front of him. Also, despite playing for a high scoring team, he had saved them from close games or losses with outstanding saves and clutch performances.

Actually Malkin WAS on the ballot. He was up in the top 3 for alot of the voting. In the end he wasn't that far off. The NHL snubbed him from the Roster. As to Crosby it was simple that you don't play in both games. Also to the one who said about last year, there was no all-star game last year because the Olympic break.
When it comes to the Goalies the fans vote for the starters. Same as all players.

The starters were determined for online vote. Youngstars are only players under 25 and rookies who were not selected by the coaches or fans to be in the all star game. Ande yes, Malkin got screwed because he was 5th on the vote but not selected by a deuch bag coach.

1. Crosby is an exception. The Young Stars game is for the young players who are outstanding for their age but not necessarily superstars yet. Also, Crosby played in it last year, I think. I don't think they'd put him in it twice.

2. The starters are voted on by the fans. Miller won the vote.

Fans voted for who gets to play and apparently not enough people voted for Malkin. Same with the goalie.
