Everyone has facial hair. In most women, it is very fine and doesn't show up. Some women just naturally have thicker, darker hair on their upper lip or chin. Some medical conditions and medicines can cause thick facial hair to grow. Also, this condition could run in your family. If your facial hair suddenly starts to grow thicker and darker, you should see your doctor. Usually, no major medical problem is found.

Temporary methods of removal would be shaving and plucking, but women and face shaving don't usually mix.

Electrolysis is the only permanent way to remove hair. A thin metal probe is inserted in the opening in the skin where the hair grows. An electric current destroys the hair at its base. You may need to get this treatment more than once to get rid of the hair for good. Electrolysis is more expensive. It isn't done by a doctor.

BTW....if you shave or pluck....IT DOES NOT COME BACK THICKER OR MORE OF IT as someone indicated. That is a myth being passed on for years by those who lack knowledge.

i just want to add something to "S H" when i was in the third grade (yes i was young) i decided to "experiment" so i took my dad's blade, and shaved my legs. the hairs weren't that long, like i said i was "experimenting" and a few weeks later, they had grown MUCH longer. so i do not believe it is a myth, you never know, it COULD be true.
