My take on this is that in our society today, we have all become sissified ( Pacifists, Politicall Correctness, Lawsuits Etc.) so it would only be right for our sisified siblings to go in that direction.
Fortunately my children are of the previous generation and followed the lead of America's Greatest Generation, The WW2 generation. During the 60's I was reared by conservatives and will continue to hand that down to my grandchildren, not the ideals of Hippies.
My sons both joined the Marines, as did I and an uncle, and they fought in the 1991 Gulf war. I was in VietNam and my father and father -in-law in WW2
Todays kids ( not all) are woosies...

Any conservative who has stated it is purely ignorant. i'm an 18 year previous conservative and that i actually ought to care much less. The youthful voter turnout is somewhat small the two way, human beings say it exchange into way better this year, besides the undeniable fact that it wasn't; it exchange into purely consistent actually. in any case as Winston Churchill as quickly as stated "while you're actually not a liberal by using the time you're 20, you have not got any heart. while you're actually not a conservative by using the time you're 30, you have not got any ideas." And its shown greater human beings exchange into conservative as they improve. seem on the infant boomers, and this previous election. They have been the only demographich that voted for McCain by using a majority, and that they have got been the comparable ones protesting Vietnam.

I believe that it may have something to do with being under someone elses' CONTROL for so long, parents, school, etc...

They WANT FREEDOM, and the 'liberal'-"agenda" seems a LOT more attractive than an authoritarian mindset at that point.

Unfortunately, some people, as they age, become less concerned with freedom and/or their (and-others) right/s to choose, and 'seem-to' fall into a kind of 'thought-laziness' (for lack of a better term) where they 'just-accept' certain things as 'that's how things are', without any real 'testing' of their view/s, and certainly not to CHANGE a view/s based on any amount of evidence to the contrary.

IMO

When I was young I was a Reagan Democrat, I believed in a larger military, the Russians scared me...but as I age I have become more understanding and compassionate and wiser to know that many of the problems we encounter are repercussions of what our government has and is doing to other countries....I think our leadership must seem (because of the radical shifting of politics here) to be psychotic to other countries over the term of several presidents.

I would say it is because of the deliberate brain washing that goes on in public schools and colleges. Along with liberal journalism and news media all being of the same agenda. You really have to be an independent intelligent person to survive the propaganda.

Becaue college professors are liberal and are spewing their hate. Just take a look at those liberal students that have been attacking guest speakers that THEY INVITED to speak at their own campus. Liberal is childish and cruel....they do not mind physically attacking ppl, it is sad to see that those young students are that impressionable that their professor instruct them on how to think and vote.....the student s do not have a mind of their own. and this is the future of our country....sad

Experience proves that there are no easy answers on some issues and in cases no solution is even possible. The world is what it is and people are what they are. Younger people still believe that if they just try hard enough or use the right words or just get the right person in charge that everything can be bright and beautiful and perfect. Some people never learn (or never choose to learn) differently.

A far majority of university instructors are liberal and registered Democrats. Exit polls from elections indicate that people who have earned graduate degrees vote democrat. I don't know if most young voters are liberals...there's no evidence to suggest that.

well, young people are often drawn toward things that are new and innovative... they aren't afraid to try something that has never been done before... and they want to make the world a better place and aren't afraid to take a chance to do it...

this of course, can be dangerous... but it can also have great power and can do a lot of good...

That is what I am saying. Most young voters are liberal because of simple ignorance.
