The best way to tell is at your doctors appt. when the do the ultrasound to see if the baby is head down in the "birthing position". The only other way to tell is based on any changes you've felt. It's not going to feel like a sudden thump in your belly, but you will notice that it's easier to breath. When the baby is higher up taking a deep breath may be hard or even painful to do. When your baby drops, it will be much easier to breathe, BUT you will notice your bladder holds much less, and has more pressure on it. So if you're running to the bathroom more often than last week, chances are she's dropped.

I'm just over 37 weeks in the same situation as you (but I'm having a boy). I've been carrying low the whole time. At my 36 week ultrasound, my ob said to me 3 times that my baby's head is really low. I've been feeling a lot of pressure down there and i have to use the bathroom very often (his head is pushing on my bladder).

I don't think that the baby will actually "drop" any more than this. But everyday that goes by, I feel an increase in pressure and I can't stand for more than a few minutes at a time.

You might not actually "drop" at all especially if it's your first child and you're carrying low. After you go into labor, your baby will continue to move down.

I hope that helps.

regards,
mari

properly they say you carry a boy extra on your lower back then your front abdomen. And it is likewise your 1st, so your abs and abdomen muscular tissues are astounding and tight nonetheless. additionally, some toddlers purely lay different interior the mothers womb, counting on your shape. you have got an prolonged torso area letting the toddler stretch downwards extra suitable than outwards. each and every lady is different, so it might desire to be purely generic feeling of continuously having to pee while your pregnant, or you have got a mushy bladder an infection inflicting it to be puzzling to pee. attempt cranberry juice and extra water for some days, and notice if that facilitates while u pee. or you purely sound like a classic pregnant lady :-) Its too early so you might of "dropped" such as you may circulate into hard paintings. i'm 40 weeks (w/my third) and that i havent "dropped" totally yet, notwithstanding i'm donning low. Plus, each and every being pregnant is different, regardless of an analogous lady. My first 2 I gave start at 38 weeks, and right here i'm 2 days previous my due date and that i think no indications of hard paintings - unusual!

The pressure gets worse and more painful sometimes, and you can feel the baby moving way down there. I carried all of my babies low. 3 boys and now a girl.

I never knew. I carried low and my daughter never really dropped. I felt pressure the day she was born but physically, she was in the same place.

did you take any pregnancy belly pics throughout?

if so--here is how you can tell.
take a pic now if you are able to--and compare them to most recent weeks--if your baby has dropped your belly sticks OUT--like a bullet, lol

even if you didnt take any pics-just look sideways in a mirror.
when baby drops it goes more 'out' than actually down/low.
