The schooling is 4 years for your undergraduate degree, 4 years of graduate school, one year for a full-time internship, and then at least one more year of practice before you can be licensed.
The average salary varies according to experience and the location of the practice. According to the American Psychological Association, the average salary for a clinical psychologist (child psychologist included) was about $75,000. Please keep in mind that you have to be practicing for awhile to make this kind of money.

Depends what you want to do. If you want to work in a school just as a say a school counseler, about 4 yrs maybe a lil longer... will be very hard to get a job with that though. Make prob 30,000 to 40,000 a yr. Um... other than that, to pretty much get a job in Psychology you must go to undergrad school and then go to graduate school for your Masters, and THEN even your PHD. Most places will not even touch someone with out a PHD. Then you will make probably 70 to 75 a yr. If you want to become a child psychiatrist, then you must do medical school in place of graduate school and you could make 120 to 150 depending on location.
