Additionaly, free trade is harmful to the United States as it allows imports to flood the domestic market, leaving the nation dependent upon foreign products while reducing it's ability to regulate the kinds of products that enter the country. As a result, American business owners may devalue its local workforce in favor of cheaper labor and less restrictive environmental standards overseas leading to increased outsourcing.

The U.S. Congress has appeared unwilling to help reverse this trend, instead offering incentives to move manufacturing and other jobs overseas. American corporations have lept at the opportunity to earn the higher profits this business model allows at the expense of the local work force.

This does still use some of the phrases. But not most.

The United States is harmed by free trade for other reasons, however. Since we allow imports to flood the domestic market, we are leaving our nation to rely on foreign markets and are thus less able to set our own rules about what kind of products enter our markets. Free trade would make Congress have a more difficult time guaranteeing workers rights and environmental standards.

Free Trade causes further harm to the United States by allowing the domestic market to be inundated with imported goods. The country then becomes too dependent on the foreign markets, and relinquishes more and more control over implementing guidelines for the type of products that are being exported to the U.S. Congress would have a great deal of difficulty ensuring that workers rights and environmental standards were being upheld.

Free trade has the additional effect of relieving Congress of the capability to control product quality, guarantee workers' rights and safeguard the environment as foreign goods flood our domestic market, only to leave us dependent on foreign imports.
