I loves me a good tale about the destruction of civilization. I've enjoyed the first half-season of Jericho, and I just watched The Day After Tomorrow. I liked the Mad Max series, Six-String Samurai, 28 Days Later, and the 80's flick The Day After.

I'm not picky about the means of the apocalypse - zombies, nukes, disease are all fine with me. I love the theme of humanity soldiering on in the face of overwhelming devastation.

What are some other films and television series (past and present) that I simply have to see?

The Stand mini series from the early '90s was just run on SCI-FI network. It's pretty good.

angel it was on the wb for five seasons it's really good but if you just the end of the world watch season five it's awsome.
