To really understand what all this "number 23" stuff is about, you have to read Robert Anton Wilson's books, particularly "Cosmic Trigger." His books generally deal with what is usually called the "mindf**k," which means that they challenge your thinking on just about everything and really make you question your concepts of reality. If you really want to have your mind expanded, and if you don't have any cherished beliefs that you would be offended to have eviscerated, read his books.

Ultimately, there is nothing particularly special about the number 23. It's just that, as Wilson points out, if you come to believe that the number 23 has significance, you will begin to find it everywhere, as Jim Carrey's character in the upcoming movie does. Carrey, by the way, is a big fan of Wilson.

Yeah, I'd say it has to do with Michael Jordan. 23-Skidoo is just plain too obscure for that kind of list you mention.
