It was after ww2 that the nukes started to get more advanced & wide spread 2 the countries that can afford them. The world saw what happened to Japan. It is a feeling of defense & power. Ur 100% correct once 1 gets fired it will be the end from relation. that's the way it is. I don't guess U remember the bay of Pigs. That was a scary time. Hope I gave U something to think about & helped.

So far nuclear weapons have made the world safer. There has not been a major world war sinse nukes were invented. The problem is if terrorists get a nuke and deside to use it.

One nuke can not destroy the world but 100 nuked could.

The clock has been moved back many times. At midnight the bombs all fall. The clock is just a weird idea someone had of warning people how unstable the world is. It really has no meaning.

Hey kid, I wouldn't sweat it. The "Doomsday clock" is the result of a group of people trying to make a social statement. Every generation thinks it is nearing the end of days, and everyone as of yet has been wrong. Even though the end of the world as we know it might come during our lifetimes, I highly doubt it. Self preservation reigns king, and no one is going to do anything that would make their enemies strike back, because they know what will happen to them. When our time comes, there's nothing we can do about it, and I'm pretty sure it won't be immediately after some pretentious scientists move a little hand on a cardboard clock to midnight. The future is brighter than most people think.

yes the clock can be moved back.. when the doomsday clock was first made it started at 7 min before midnight it eventually moved back to 16 min before midnight ... at one point it was 2 min before midnight.... when the clock reaches midnight it is supposed to be the end of the world.. the only ways they move it back is when things start to become peaceful... when things start to look bad they move it forward... it hasnt been changed for about 20 years so.. u really got nothing to worry about.... =)

people made nuclear weapons because they think that it will remove their problems in war but what they dont know is that it will make their problems worse....for example... say usa nukes iraq...iraqs allies will bomb the u.s. .. then usa's allies like canada and brittain will bomb the other countrys and all the countrys will basically go "boom!" therefore ending the world..

but.. that probably wont happen for a very long time...
hope that helps!

The main reason it can affect the entire world is because if Russia fires a missile, we will assume they're hostile and fire back, we each have enough missiles to completely destroy each other.

People make nuclear weapos because they are stupid. People never think about consequences. They just act upon illogical emotion.
