Not sure of the specific case you're mentioning... but that info doesn't often reach the people thru the media.

That's just the nature of a large percentage of those in the US Military... When I was in the Navy, I've visited /worked on orphaneges in Mexico, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Austrailia. Then USS Kitty Hawk's CREW bought 2 fire-trucks and an ambulance, and transported them to Acapulco, Mexico following a hurricane in 1995.

We're all not a bunch of hard-drinking, skirt-chasing, war-mongers.

No, I haven't heard about that, but I bet the kids will wear those coats when they go to the schools Americans are building for Iraqi children, and the media still won't care about all those kids and will try to make up more stories that say America should stop trying to help Iraq have the same freedoms the media takes for granted here in the USA.

My teacher worked at schools over in Kwait and other countries when he was deployed and we sent school supplies for the children and they were so happy.

No. The media only focus on the bloody news of car bombings and UN's death toll report. Good news don't sell for them, I guess.
