Like if i would come back into the states across the bridge into detroit, would i need my passport to get back in? Or is it when you are flying?

*i live in Northwest ohio, like an hour or so from Toledo...thats why i'd go through detroit*

Currently it's only when flying. However by June 2008 it will have to be when driving as well. Might as well put the paper work in now, and get it over with.

Right now...it's both. But Michigan's Governor is working on new law that would allow Michigan Resident's to have special license plates on their cars to allow an easier commute back and forth.

It was in the news towards the end of 2006. You might want to keeping checking the Secretary of States Office regularly to see if it even gets passed into law.

well it's better to be safe than sorry... get a passport while you're still in the us and you won't have problems getting into the us...
