I am getting ready to take 3 of my nephews out camping this weekend. It is supposed to get pretty cold (around 30 degrees). I have a big tent that doesn't keep the heat in. I was wondering what the best way to stay warm would be . . . we are bringing alot of blankets & some good sleeping bags . . any other tips? Thanks, Randy

DO NOT use a fuel fired heater inside your tent. Carbon monoxide poisoning is a good way not to wake up. I take a big sleeping bag and an extra old comforter that my wife no longer uses. Seems to be good down to about 25F, but maybe I'm just used to it. The hot rocks sound like a good idea. With four of you in a tent, that will be a lot of body heat. You should do alright, unless the boys are real wimps.

In the past, we have heated up rocks and brought them inside the tent, usually placingthem atop of tin foil. It may not be Jamaca in there, but it IS safe.

I was outside Tokyo in a 12x12 tent with a large kerosene stove in the middle and we still froze. Good luck ware your long handles.
