I live in Salt Lake City & someone told me that in 2 yrs. all bars, clubs, pubs, etc. will be non smoking-when I drink, I need to smoke!! I think it should be the owners decision not someone else!

i agree that it should be up to the owners; drinking & smoking go hand in hand

As I am an ex-smoker:

When I smoked, I never did like 2nd hand smoke or others smoking around me. It is a matter of being considerate.

I think bars, pubs and restaurants should be smoke free, but they should have a "Smoking Room" where smokers can go after eating and/or drinking to enjoy a smoke. It should be well ventilated and the smoke filtered out of the air.

Again, the primary consideration, should be, being considerate to others.

Well, whether you smoke or not has alot to do with a persons opinion.
I personally choose not to, and I encourage the people around me not to either. Nobody can argue the negative health effects of smoking.
Anyways, I think "smoke-free" bars, etc. are great. I've gone in places where its like a fog and you have to cut your way around. I mean hello! If you don't smoke and your in those places you might as well start puffing away cause the amount of second-hand smoke is alarming.
Here in Houston, they passed an ordinance that will make all public buildings and all restaurants, bars, etc "smoke free" with the exception of outdoor or patio dinning. So they managed to compromise and even though lots of people aren't happy about it, maybe it will encourage smokers to stop or cut-back on their habit.
Lets hope so. I want a happier, healthier, Houston

I live in Canada and not everywhere but most places are smoke free. I am a smoker too and I like the idea of smoke free bars etc.
#1- You smoke way less because you have to go outside
#2- You wont even realize till it happens but your hangover is not as painful or most of the times I don't even get one anymore. Sounds strange but it's true!
Okay those are the only 2 good points I have but it's really not that bad.

I understand the employees desire to work in a smoke free environment. I also understand that when you go to a bar, pub or such that it is an adult entertainment establishment so smoking would be considered adult behavior.
The California establishments no longer allow it unless you are in a casino and that is owned by the native Americans.
If you want to work in the smoke free environment then apply some place that does not allow it.

I like a smoke free club (it is shear heck working all day breathing in smoke at a bar), but I agree it should be up to the club.

I don't smoke unless I'm drinking either (very little) and I agree that if it's a privately owned pub (not part of some chain), then the owner should have the right to decide.

It is happening here in Mississippi and I think it is wrong for bars and pubs. I do however support a ban in restaurants. Many bar owners are upset and have begun to fight the local governments to lift the bans just on bars.

It is probably a good thing. I dont smoke in side my house for the sake of my children. I can see how a non smoker doesnt want to around smoke even though they could just leave or something,

Smoke free bars are a drag (pun intended). I don't mind smoke free restaurants. I'm in CA and it's been smoke free here for years. At least you don't come home stinking like an ashtray after a night out.

On a side note... You can drink in UT? I thought it was a dry state.

Obama chosen this church for two decades and have been given baptized there. i don't think of after just about two decades that this the 1st time this guy spoke out. My ideas come from trinity's internet site on the approximately us tab. it is sparkling this could be a church generally for blacks and Africa. we are interior the U.S. possibly somebody ought to tell the trinity church that one Africa is the only that offered the U.S. slaves and a couple of Obama is 0.5 white. i think of Obama harm himself along with his spouse's comments, her paper from Princeton, and his 20 year relationship with this church so as that he ought to get elected in Illinois. yet something of the 88% of the non-black U.S. inhabitants are greater involved interior the cost of Oil, wheat, corn and different stressful circumstances we are dealing with. If Obama is so commited to his black element of his race then why pass to a house for a million.6 million money. stay interior the area of the church it fairly is a decrease income area. Hmmm. those black all and sundry is solid sufficient for votes yet to not stay among. specific it hurts him. And by using ways the poor black human beings have it so stressful. ask your self how many human beings do you for my area be attentive to that went to Harvard or Princeton and in no way the two spectacular. properly him and his spouse have Ivy League educations. Their lives have been so stressful as black human beings. I choose the U.S. could end conserving them returned. i'm crying now. lol
