Also, is there a way I can block unwanted viewers from my website. Such as, adding a password before they can enter the site? How do I do something like that?

This site has a list of places that allow totally free web hosting:

http://www.free-webhosts.com/webhosting-01.php

These particular sites have what you need in order to make your own password protected site. You should have a main page that is public and a place for people to sign in, and then have the rest under lock and key.

The most commonly used method is to use PHP for developing your web pages, and use a MySQL database to hold the usernames and passwords, and use PHP Sessions functions to manage and monitor the logins and access of people to the website's restricted area.

You can also do a simple access method, but you need to have direct low level access to the actual server to create a .htaccess file and the corrresponding username and password access control list. The passwords have to be locally encoded using the server's password functions in order to work.

There are few free web hostings.

www.angelfire.com
www.geocities.com
www.tripod.com are a few examples.

When I design my webpage I used Microsoft Front Page and than followed the directions to upload. You can set up a password on an website I'm not sure if you do in Front page or through your host.

Best thing, and to save you a LOT OF TIME, is to take a course in website design at a community college.

Go to www.bravenet.com. They help you make a website and they give you free tools like the one you wanted. I still use it.

Good luck!
