Guess most guys are too lazy to go through all the hassle of putting on makeup every morning. But I'm a very vain guy so I put on some base when my acne gets out of control (just over the affected area enough no cover it but people would never notice I'm wearing makeup) and eyeliner when I dress up as an emo kid for Halloween :P.

Well, right now I live in a small town of 300 people. So, I don't feel like I have to wear makeup on a day to day basis. But maybe when we move...it will be different. But then again maybe not. And besides, we aren't perfect. I wear moisturizer, concealer, liquid foundation, mascara, and lip gloss

Discrimination driven by society standards!

You can wear makeup if you want and I bet most people would not say a word to you! How about all the metro sexuals, people usually wont confront someone in public like that but you have to be strong enough to deal with what you would have to if you did wear makeup.

It's more socially acceptable for women to wear make-up versus men. Men wearing make-up, aside from being on tv and movies, would be considered to be too feminine... one of society's "rules" of how men and women should act and appear to the rest of the world. If I am not mistaken, men did wear make-up in the 1800's. Along with white wigs and the short capri-looking pants. It is just how society in this era perceives things to be.

To answer your question simply, it is a cultural thing. Men in many cultures wore makeup on a daily basis - be it kajal eyeliner, lip enhancing pigments, etc.

Women are conditioned to think that their beauty is paramount in attracting people to them, so they wear paints and such to alter and improve their natural looks. Men, historically, have brawn and power to use to attract, so they are not inclined to beautify themselves to attract people.
If you want to wear makeup - go right ahead, but do expect that people will view you as someone who chooses to look feminine rather than masculine.

Guys CAN wear make-up.. it's not like it's illegal. However, it is odd, and most of the time just not accepted.
