if this is too much info, I apologize now. I was just curious. One of my friends, whose due at anytime.. well, her 'Mucus blood" came out the other night.. and now, her contractions are getting closer and stronger. My mom told me it wasn't really blood coming out.. just like a discharge. I was just curious about this.. I am 32 weeks and just wondering. I'm still afraid I won't know when 'the time' comes. lol..

True. The Mucus PLUG comes out when a woman's body is ready to give birth. However, it could be an hour before contractions, or a week before. It is only there as a block against infection.

It's perfectly normal. Trust me, when your ready to give birth, you'll know.

If your sitting there wondering, "Is this it? Am I having contractions?" the answer is most likely, No.

You will know.

Good luck, and keep smiling - you're almost there! :o)

I worried about not knowing when it was time as well! Mine ended up being my water broke but it was more like a tiny leak! At first I thought it was just alot of discharge but it was real watery, i called my doctor and they said just go on in to the hospital and that's what it was my water broke just barely. Everybody has something different. One of my friends was in for a routine doc visit and her blood pressure was high so in she went! Another had contractions for a full day before she even gave it a second thought. As scary as it is to not be in the know...you'll realize it when something is just not the same as it was yesterday! Congrats and Good Luck! Just trust your instincts and always ask mom...they've been thru it!

Oh you'll know!! Yeah it's called the mucous plug (not mucous blood) breaks and you start having contractions. It is all types of fluid, mucous, blood, discharge. Sometimes it doens't break on it's own and the Dr. has to tear it open. NOT PAINFUL--Yet!! So they will rip it and then you should start having contractions.

You will be seeing your M.D. every week after 28 weeks so your physician may be able to tell when it's coming. GOOD LUCK. Of all the people I've seen have babies, not one said it was not worth it.

It is called the Mucus Plug. It is just a clear gooey discharge or may come out in one lump. Kind of looks like phlegm. It comes out of the cervix when it begins to dilate. Usually 7 -14 days before delivery.

Every woman I've ever talked to has said the same thing...Will I know when I'm in labor?

I asked the same thing with my first pregnancy, and YES!!!! You will definitely know! It's not like the Braxton-Hicks contractions you'll be starting to have from time to time in the next few weeks.

The most amazing thing to me was how much it seemed like I had to poop! I mean, the contractions hurt really bad, but the baby was pressing down on that area.

I'm 34 weeks along with baby #2 myself. Good luck! You'll be just fine!

You may not lose your mucus plug until labor -- I didn't both times. It's just kind of a barrier, to keep any bacteria from getting inside your uterus. If you lose it at home, it can come out all at once (you'd definitely notice it) or it can come out a little at a time, in which case you might not notice it.

I lost mine the evening previously I had my infant (37 weeks) and some in the course of the hours as a lot as having him. It became no longer pink like some human beings say yet a greenish coloration- type of like snot. It appears like you would possibly want to free it. you've gotten a lengthy time period yet besides the undeniable fact that because I instructed a midwife and she or he stated you would possibly want to free this as a lot as 2 weeks previously infant. also dont difficulty because she is secure to go back now. 37 weeks is what they call complete time period the only ideal 3 weeks is only for growing so no longer mandatory. :)
