with the trades he made pre-season were incredible,he has taken the saints farther than the franchise has ever been.with deauce, reggie and especially cool breese, which was the best q.b outthere and if he can keep this up and brings the lombardi to the big easy, hes now a top q.b in the nfl.but back to peyton, the mans has been fantastic and could start winning ways in the big easy which all of us gulf-coast residents need.who else thinks (if) the saints win it all,it would be one of the best comeback stories in recent n.f.l history?

With out a doubt and the results show on the field...The most important thing he has done is get the team on his side, get them to believe in his system and get them to play for him every week.

There has been some inconsistent weeks but that is to be expected from a "from scratch" team with a new coach and a recovering city

Danny....if the NFL is fixed like you say, after 9/11 why didn't the Jets and Giants play in the Super Bowl? Last I checked the Patriots play near Boston Giants vs. Jets Super Bowl would've made more sense.

Back to the question....I think Payton has done a masterful job. Besides being an offensive genius, he's helped to change the culture of futility in NO. He brought in high-character guys (like Drew Brees) and got rid of the bums (Aaron Brooks, Donte' Stallworth). Drafting Reggie (another high character guy and a WINNER) was a gift from heaven, and Deuce and Horn have been great role models to him. And like it was mentioned above, he's gotten everyone to buy into his system. That's the most important thing. If your players know that you know what you're doing, the results are phenomenal, as you can see. The Saints problems have never been talent-related, but attitude-related.

We have an opportunity to add to that next year through free agency and the draft. Now that people see that NO can win, more free agents will want to come and help make us a perennial winner.

I was worried that Payton was just starting off like Jim Haslett. Haslett made the playoffs his first year too, if you remember. However I feel MUCH better about this team than that team. I think right now that if the Saints bring their "A" game, they can beat anyone in the league.

it would be, which is why it'll happen. the NFL is government owned and the government says who will win and who will lose, and by doing so, they can not just stabalize economies throughout the country, but also bring positive impacts to the hearts and minds of those that need it. havent you noticed how teams will do good one year and then horrible the next, and vice versa? for example, in 2001, after 9/11, the patriots, the patriotic patriots, out of nowhere, go to the superbowl, and beat out the rams!!! that was a huge and amazing upset! now, cause of hurrican katrina, the saints will go all the way, making all the people of new orleans and the gulfcoast extremely happy, to the point where maybe theyll stop caring about what theyve lost, and just be happy that their team won a championship, AFTER HAVING WON ONLY 3 GAMES THE YEAR BEFORE! it'll make the greatest sports story ever, and a movie will be made after that happens too. the nfl is fake, just like wwe and ecw. this is the realist thing youve ever read. dolphins #1!

As a Texans fan I can only say you are welcome for reggie bush. Sean Payton has probably done the best rookie coaching jobs in history. As a football fan I can honestly say I was a little choked up when they opened thte superdome back up and the saints beat the falcons, that game was freaking crazy...go saints bring a champoinship to the big easy...great another reason for them coon asses to party

Without a doubt. He has taken a mediocre team and turned it into a very good team. He may not win the Super Bowl (I'm rooting for them) but they will be a force for years. They stole Drew Brees and should send Gary Kubiak a present for leaving Reggie Bush. What a dumb-***. Definitely a feel good story.

I agree with you. I think you also have to give Eric Mangini runner-up status. What he did for the Jets was incredible.
