You can't use nail polish so I was wondering what you could do.

Acetone, the same stuff as nail polish remover, but stronger. Where gloves, dries hands out.

Without damaging the doors finish it will be nearly impossible to remove the polish without leaving the trace of cleaning it up.I would start with polish remover then go to acetone

Try Goof Off 2. It's not as harsh as the regular Goof Off so it won't damage the finish but it should take it off. ---Of course test in an inconspicuous area first just in case.
