I have a expensive diamond heart shaped ring with 170 diamonds and a braclet that has 66 diamonds. I recently broke up with my ex boyfriend. Should I keep them or sell them?

You need to keep them cause they might come in handy in case you fall on hard times and need to pawn them ya know? good luck to you.

Whatever you would like to do. You can always take all the diamonds and have a piece of jewelry made up that you design. Go to a jewelry store and ask for some ideas. Or, if you love the pieces as they are, enjoy.

I say you should keep them! He had enough time to ask for them back now if he really wanted them. And if I were you, I would still keep them if he asked for them back because it was a gift that he gave to you. Now if you need the money then you should sell them or if you don't want to remember him or something like that, then sell it and see how much you can make off him!

You'll be surprised how little you will get for your used diamond jewelry. Used diamonds are a dime a dozen. If you like the jewelry, keep it give it to a daughter one day

Hang on to them for a little while. Maybe you two will get back together. Maybe you'll want to give them back to him. Or maybe you'll forget about him all together, but still appreciate the pretty baubles and want to wear them again. If after 6 months you don't like them and he hasn't returned and you don't feel like giving them back, then by all means trade them in or have a jeweler make them into something you can tolerate.

I think you should keep them until one year after you have been broke up with your boyfriend. That way there is not much chance of getting back together and you aren't freshly broke up. Then if you want to sell them.

That would depend on if you want memories of him hanging around or want to put everything in the past. If you want him gone and gone for good then sell them but if the memories won't bother you every time you look at them then hang on to them. They will only value with time.

I don't mean this to be ugly but why are you asking us? Is it pretty jewelry? Do you like wearing it? Does the idea of selling it hurt you? Then keep it. Do you need the cash? Does it make you cringe when you see it? Then sell it.

They're yours to do what you want with them. You might consider having the diamonds put into a necklace or watch band.

I think the ethical thing to do, since you are the one who broke it off, is to offer them back to him. Unless he was physically abusive and/or left the relationship owing you alot of money, in which case you would deserve to keep the jewelry.

A gift is a gift so you can do whatever you want to do with it. I won't keep it but sell it to the highest bidder and buy me a nice boyfriend.
