I do it, usually just to listen to the live band in peace.
But men don't leave a woman alone if she's in a place like that by herself, so I usually get pissed off and leave soon after.

I don't think I would have the nerve to. I don't like to eat or drink alone in a restraunt. I don't want people starring at or wondering why I'm alone.

i think it would be ok. a pub is usually a social, friendly place. you can chat up who you want and it's usually no big deal.
