I didn't know if it is okay to use before meals. I'd like to use it when water and soap aren't available and often.

There is nothing wrong with select use of santizing agents. However the widespread and excessive use of these products contributes to the growing problem of resistant bacteria. Ultimately they force mutation and the development of resistant strains. Sooner or later this will come back to bite us in our backsides.

Hand sanitizer was basically created to clean germs off of your hands when dirty or before/after meals. It can be used as a normal substitute if wanted, although a little more expensive. It is basically just soap minus the water. I use hand sanitizer a lot, but it doesn't come in the variety of flavors that soap has.

No hand sanitizer is not bad for you. I always apply a small amount before I eat its a good habit to keep. Just allow it to completely dry before eating.

Hand sanitizer is fantastic! Use it as much as you want. In hospitals, it is used very, very frequently, and only recommended that you must use actual soap and water when your hands are visibly soiled. Otherwise, sanitize away!!

Yes, it fine, but can dry out your hands if used a lot. Lotion is good to use afterward.

it's not that it's necessarily bad for you. It's just that when it kills bacteria, it kills both the harmful and the beneficial. But it does effectively clean your hands. don't start eating before it dries though....
