It's a tough question because it covers so much time. During the centuries of Empire, there were still senators and the senators had wives, but their roles were much different than during the time of the Roman Republic. Your best bet is to pick a specific senatorial wife or mother and generalize from her. Cornelia, Mother of the Gracchi is always a good choice.
