In her words she is apparently the Angelina Jolie of India. We have been shown clips and she looks the total star. It hit the news big time tonight its in all the papers. It was sickening although more bullying than overt racism, but i think an underlying current of racism. She has so much more class they are jealous of her.

What everyone is saying is true.
But........just because she is a well known actress in India, here in the UK she is hardly known. When people go into the Big Brother house they are all equals in terms of "star status".
The housemates know the rules and as we've seen, can leave at any time if they don't feel comfortable.
The past few weeks have been a rollercoaster of unfortunate events. Shilpa being bullied, The racism row and so on.
Put 4 girls from very different backgrounds (most of whom are not very educated) in an enclosed space for 3 weeks, and what the hell do you think is going to happen??
Woman are scatty and evil even if they don't intend to be, they are also jelous and mean and form gangs against others, who for whatever reason they dislike.
I don't think it is racial, rather cultural.
I feel sorry for Shilpa but she is going to get the most our of this experience and I feel sorry for Jade Goody whose carreer may be in ruins.
She was put in there, the producers knowing full well what she was like and that she may cause arguments and be her loud self.
They (the producers) let the arguing go on (I admid it was great to watch) too far, and she unfortunately let rip on national tv sparking all sorts of media fueled hate across the nation.
Is there not more important matters to be concerned about?

Shilpa is being treated terribly - bullied with undertones of racism and the tv station showing it has been inundated with complaints. I think around 20,000 in the last 48 hours?
The 3 girls responsible are getting away with it and the majority of the viewing public are trying to get them thrown out for the bullying she is experiencing.
I believe that there are even demonstrations in India.
I feel ashamed that she's being treated this way with no visual support from the program makers.
I hope she realises that we are not all bigoted bullies - but the 3 involved (Jade, Danielle & Jo) need chucking out.
With any luck they'll have ruined what careers they did have and will be vilified by both the press and the public when they do come out.
It wouldn't surprise me if they snuck them out instead of the proper eviction process as ther will be hell to pay.
Try accessing channel4.com if you want more updates but the channel are even being careful about what they are writing on there. We knew yesterday during a sister show (Big Brothers Big Mouth) that Jade and Shilpa had a massive row yet theres been nothing on their headline/news page all day.
I'm sure channel4 are loving the extra viewers and all the media coverage they are getting but it will bite them in the a ss if they don't do something soon.

hello AtiaoftheJulii,
No there are no riots brewing ....as yet.........but the sitiation can easily be turned volatile, if the bullying continues in the big Brother house and nothing is done to satify public outcry.
The current situation in London, today is that, London Police have tightened security as many asians have sent sent a record number of threatening e-mails to the reality show producers and actors for humiliating one of the top Bollywood actresses.
As for the TV show “Celebrity Big Brother” of TV network Channel Four, claims the producers have denied there is any racist bullying against contestant Shilpa shetty (31, is an award-winning Bollywood actress)
The whole incident has been denied as "cultural and class clash" between three other housemates, Jade Goody, famous for appearing in Big Brother 3; Danielle Lloyd, a former Miss Great Britain; and Jo O'Meara, former singer with pop act S Club 7 and the Indian star.
The first sign of trouble came when Jackiey Budden, Goody's mother, calling Shilpa "the Indian" or "Princess. Then, small group, including , Goody's boyfriend, spend a lot of time complaining about her and mimicking her voice and accused her of wanting to be more light-skinned. These are just a few complaints but there are others.
It is believed, that Channel 4 has had 2,000 complaints and TV regulator Ofcom has had 19,300, (a record for a television broadcast) about treatment of Shilpa.
However, he incident has become international since the Indian government said it will take action amid condemnation by prime minister Tony Blair. The story has made front pages of several Indian newspapers today(Wednesday), and a small-scale protest in the eastern Indian city of Patna saw the burning of an effigy.
Currently, the Indian government is awaiting a report on the programme and could raise the matter with the UK. Now that could bring trouble. But hope not.
Here in the UK, things are quite otherwise. People sympathise with shilpa but no one is looking for trouble on the streets. But then there is a fair bit of the programme still left for viewing.
No one knows what is going to happen ......but here where we live in a multi-cultural society, the harsh truth is that although such racist slurs have no place in civilised society, it clearly does exist, and this particular unfortunate incident is just a small reflection. Its not just about racism but also ignorance too and vicious racial bigottry.
The main troubled highlights shown, had averaged 4.5 million viewers - up from 3.5 million on Monday and 3.9 million on Tuesday last week. And now the bookmaker William Hill have made Shetty the favourite to win the series, at odds of 6/4. .
She has stuck in there and I for one want her to win. She is my fav. int the show and not just there, but in Bollywood too. She is a "princess", she has class and standards, manners and repect fot those around her., unlike her fellow girls. They are acting down right common. She is the Lady and they are the Tramps.
She has tolerated their behaviour towards her and not complained to BB, not even stooped to their level by eg. possibly immitating Jade's accent, which i am sure she could do too, if she wanted to. They have made her more popular with the public, and as a result they raised the number of view for Channel 4, and sold more papers both at home and internationally, and somehow I am sure they have made her a heroine in her own country. The bad girls have raised Shilpa's status, to the level where even the Bollywood world is waiting to offer her more film roles. She has to win. Infact she has already won........she does not have to do anything.........just enjoy the outcome.........when she comes out.........
You have to see her film, Dastaan and the Phir Milenge (we'll meet again) film that was inspired by Hollywood hit Philadelphia n which she played someone with HIV. She also has a role in Brad Pitt's latest flick, Babel.
Current situation:
Jade's personal perfume range has been removed off the shelves.
Danielle has had her modelling contract terminated.
The Carphone Warehouse will not longer sponser the BB and have suspended its affiliation, after a now 36,000 complaints.
Today, is Friday...hurrayyyyyy....its eviction day.
Shilpa or Jade??
But there will not be any crowds outside the BB house to greet the looser, just in case its Jade and she gets a mob out there calling her all sorts. Is she comes out, she will not be popular.
also, it appears that Jade's perfume range has been taken off the market.
Daniella has

The 3 ladettes that are bullying her cant handle the fact that shes much prettier than them and also is a nice person. This is their try to make Shilpa look like the baddie.... only if they were watching the programme themselves!!!
I feel sorry for Shilpa's mum. Seeing her daughter cry and not being able to comfort her.... plus they are in separate countries too.

Singing is something that everybody can learn and improve. Of course, some are more naturally skilled than others, but even a poor voice can be overcome by dedication, practice, and more practice. Even if you're content to sing in the shower, there are some things you can do to improve your voice. This is probably the best online course to improve your singing skills https://tr.im/jaSVf
Your golden voice will be ringing out in no time!

Yes, there is a lot of racism in it... Shilpa too had her part of it. Let me ask you - why we're not going to Africa or cambodia for shows ? Why we're not making films like Lagaan or Rang de Basanti where we proudly mingle with Eritrians or Mongolians or falling in love with them ? We are desparate to get white people's attention (pardon me.... Arabs, Central Asians, all are English and American fans :-)..we forget everything when they smile on us !!!! and say hellew !!!!) Why we're not thinking that we're all gifted with different qualities, which if we try can develop and be proud about ?, We Asians and Africans are just retarded and slow because, the white came out of the middle age darkness first. And it is human that we always try to exploit others..
Just we should be proud about ourselves and believe in ourselves, we don't want anybody's approval or attention, do not go there anymore for fun.......
we do not like it, Shilpa is one among us, let her learn to protect herself from fucked up in public..
