Stands for EMOtional.
Generally an adjective for a depressed or highly emotional person who wears a lot of black and often has a sullen disposition.
Also to descibe a style of music, Emotional.
This has been a new way of describing something close to Gothic (Goth).

i love the word.

yep, emo is basically the word that preps use to describe anything that isn't all sunshine and rainbows.

trust me. i am a catholic school girl and anytime anybody isn't happy they get a chorus of "EMO kid" or "EMO!" or "Why are you EMO when life is wonderful?"

lol. i agree with the mtv pop thing. that is so true. anybody who calls themselves emo isn't emo.

if you call yourself emo. you are looking for the wrong kind of attention. the real emo people have other telling that they are emo. especially their parents.
