You know the bad performes of "regular" people just like u &me that they put on American Idol. Do u think that the people have that bad talent or do u think that they r actors?

Although they are real, I think some of it is scripted and they are told to do this or that..
It also appears even though some get cut off short and are told to leave that in reality, they get at least two songs to sing as evidenced by the many people they show in the quick clips of a bunch of people singing off key or thee same song or something..much of it is scripted just like the rehearsals and then judges either turn in their comments for the teleprompter or generally say the same thing and ab-lib a little based on if the rehearsal and final TV cut are very different. I do think the contestants don't know what the judges will say but the producers will in advance of live taping.

I don't think they are actors. But I do think they puposely put them up there for that reason. I had a friend who auditioned and she said there are 2 other 'screening' auditions you have to go through before getting the TV judges. She sings GREAT and she didn't get past the 2nd. How she didn't get past and these crazy shreekers did? I don't know.
Its pretty much who makes good TV. I'm pretty sure some stuff is staged too. The reactions seem a little forced at times.

Its open to the public. Some people act really werid and sing terriblly so they will get fame as one of the ''worse'' American Idol singers. American Idol wouldnt pay people to sing bad. Hey, over 50 to 75 percent of the world cant sing! Its open to nayone who can join. Although, some people who sign bad, witch happens every season cant hear how bad they sing and people take it too far.

Good question. I wondered the same myself last night. I think when the show first airs, some of those people have to be put on their for ratings. Some of those people are just too wierd, and some KNOW they can't sing. Now some, I am sure think they can, but they really can't. It's all about rating sister.

No. They are that bad.
I had a friend that went to and audition once. He didn't even make it to the judges. They give you a first audition and then you go see Randy, Paula and Simon.
So they give those bad people a chance to go through and see the judges so they can get it on TV and then look like an idiot.
It's brutal but it sells.

I dunno...it's weird because notice how almost all of the "bad performers" are singing the same song at the end. But then again, it's possible that the people just suck at singing!

i think that some of them are acting. theres no way that you could sing that bad and not notice that you are horrible, and if you knoew that you were horrible then why would you sign up to embarass yourself on tv for millions of people to make fun of you and watch you get hurt. but some of them are probably real people because i read a magazine article just a few days ago that one of the guys on there was like really hurt because they said he was horrible and stuff.

I think both! I believe they have said they hire actors to perform badly. But if some of those people were real, we are all in trouble! Especially with that juggler kid who lost it when he got kicked off!

Some people probally pretend to be worse then they really are just for their 15 minutes of fame, but if you would make yourself look like an idiot on national tv just to be famous for a little while I think ur just stupid.
Oh well, either way they're hilarious to make fun of.
