I was saddly unhappy with the movie. I mean parts of it were good, but it just did not compare to the live musical.

The musical, of course! I thought the movie was a pretty good adaptation (certainly seen worse), but it doesn't compare to the live show.

I was really disappointed by the ending. If you watch the alternate on the DVD, it shows the cast onstage singing Seasons of Love, as at the beginning, with an empty space for Angel. Then Angel runs out and joins in for the last verse, like during the end of the musical. I thought it was a lot more powerful...but, like others, I've been ruined by seeing the stage version too many times.

Both were freaking amazing! Great voice actors in both, but I'm going to have to go with with the musical. I think seeing it first before the movie did me in, I mean, movies can never compare to the real live version.
