anyone know any good websites to help with this...have been on a few but they are as confusing as the book..thanks

A mole is just a number. A really big number. It's equal to 6.022 x 10^23. It's just a name for that number like a dozen is a name for 12. Since atoms and molecules are so small, it makes more sense to think of them in terms of large quantities, which is where the concept of the mole comes in.

Stoichiometry is tough to define since people use it to talk about lots of things. The main concept is ratios and the main application is conversion of units. Let's say you want to make a molecule. To make one molecule, you need so many A and so many B. If you have a certain amount of A, stoichiometry is what lets you calculate how much B you'll need and how much of the molecule you can make.
