Seriously, what is so great about affirmative action?
I guess it's good if you're black or arab and don't feel like working hard in school som you can still get into college.
These people scream-"equality"-when aren't my equal rights being violated if someone else who does a half-job takes my job?
Thoughts on this? Don't call me a racist either, I'd just rather see the guy who deserves the job get it.

You are looking at the problem with way to much reason and not enough guilt. LOL

Just think of the many times that people that aren't white and were very qualified have not been hired or let into an institution because of their color. I think it's a huge misconception that affirmative action means a less qualified candidate gets the job or gets let into the school. Full civil rights were given to black americans a little over forty years ago. so if you look at the major heads of companies that are over 50, they lived in a world where blacks were considered inferior and were raised by parents who thought the same (not trying to say all but probably a pretty good amount). Now here comes a black man or lady well qualified and the perfect fit but because she/he is black they don't get the job, and it is given to a less qualified white person. how about that view. you ever think about the number of people that were better for the job but because of their color or race or sex weren't hired and a white male with less qualifications were hired.

I can't tell you how many times I've heard people complain that they lost a job to someone less qualified because of affirmative action.

I'm sure some of the stories are true example of aggirmative action & some are just excuses bigots give for being losers.

But I'm still against affirmative action for two main reasons.
1. It is inherently unfair to give a job to someone based on skin color.
2. It strengthens the evil notion that the black man is weaker, needing extra help to succeed.

The original use was to keep employers, schools, etc from being racists. Some employers and schools would turn down qualified minorities because they were minorities. As racism goes away, the need for affirmative action also goes away. And that is why you see a lot of affirmative action laws going away.

As a man with some degree of self respect I wouldnt want to work for a company that doesnt want me If my ability to perform the perscribed duties is not up to par tell me and Ill eithr get better or look else where
Hiring on the basis of ethnicity is as counter productive as not hiring for the same reason . If a black man can do the job hes hired if not oh well next thats about as equal as it gets can you do the job mr. any color or do I find another more capable man of any color ?

I love affirmative action. It worked for my construction company. I hired an American Indian woman to be president. and I hired a disabled Black Vietnam Vet to be treasurer. With that combination the Government contracts flowed.

Affirmative action has nothing to do with just giving minorities a job wether they deserve it or not......maybe you should do a little more research.

Before affirmative action minorities nor women were being hired by companies just because of their race and gender. They can not discriminate anymore due to affirmative action. There is nothing unfair about that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You obviously don't understand the concept of AfAc. You're being a racist by assuming that the person 'taking your job' is doing half as much as you are. YOU are the very proof for AfAc.

You realize millions after millions of black people were brutally murdered, tortured, FORCED to work all their life till they dropped dead on the field, the women and children were raped? Go through that first then you'll have a right to talk about affirmative action.
