Ok I agree it could be construed as bullying but its ONLY a GAME show and they are all PLAYERS and no one is forcing anyone to watch it!

I just don't see what is racist...

As a Scot I get people mocking my accent, making assumptions about us wearing kilts and eating haggis all day which I just take with a pinch of salt, its silly stereotyping, not racism.

I think exactly the same. I'm a Londoner and people take the rise out of my accent - I laugh and think its funny. Bullying happens in every Big Brother there has been - so whats new. Its just a group of people jumping on the old 'pull the race card' band wagon. Personally I'm sick to death of hearing Racism as an excuse for people not wanting to hear the views of others.

Puma Academy - what has being Famous and successful got to do with it ??? Do you understand what the word RACISM means ?????

I think society needs to put racism on a scale. If you can call what is being said on BB racism (as distinct from provoked insult that would have occured anyway regardless of race given the situation) then it'll be way down the lower end if anything and certainly doesn't warrant a diplomatic incident with the Indian government!! For it to even be mentioned in the UK parliament shows how media-influenced and image-concious everyone has become.
The intensity of each 'racist' remark that I've seen so far is minimal, the size of the target population is 1-person, the frequency of the 'racism' is infrequent. I'm more worried about the mental state of the Indian crowd I saw on TV burning an effigy of a Channel4 TV BB producer (ie. KILL him). If that is their highly disproportionate response to these utterly trivial incidents on an edited game show, how would they react to REAL racism?
I have to wander what sort of edited footage has been fed to the Indian people by their media, whether quotes have been taken out of context or meaning has been lost in translation.

If people are percieving it as racism, then it is racism surely?? The fact is that the antics in the BB house are causing problems on an international level. I think Channel 4 should pull the plug on the show before it gets any worse.
Even if you don't watch it, the repercussions are shown on the News. There is no escape, it's the hottest topic of the moment!!

I mostly agree although what Danielle said was pretty dodgy. As for Jade's argument, she was being her ridiculous, mouthy self. This seems to me to be three (Jade, Danielle and Jo) silly, b*tchy, jealous little girls. Shilpa is so pretty and the other three frankly aren't. It's good old-fashioned jealousy and some VERY clever editing from BB, don't forget that. Their ratings have taken a hit and now, suddenly it's the hot topic. Something funny going on there, don't you think?

I don't remember hearing that calling someone black is offensive. You can decide that calling a person white is offensive if you want. but I note this: In most cultures, black, dark are used to refer to all negative things in the world - dark humour, dark mood, black market, Black Friday, black clouds, black hearted, When some people thought to connect themselves to a different and hopefully more positive - or at least more neutral - identifier by calling themselves African American, it was in part to distance themselves from a very, very negative brand word - the word black. So sorry, this attempt created such an intense burden for poor, poor you.

I think what we have is bullying mixed with large dollops of ignorance and misunderstanding.

I don't think it is any coincidence that Jo and Jade who have both been bullied in the past are now doing the bullying. Danielle is young and naive and is just being a sheep.

If your a scot you should be ashamed of yourself!!! It is terrible behaviour Im a scot too and think it is awful, that you say it's ok to treat people like that.

Im sure you would like your child or sister or brother to be treated that way after all it's only a game!
