Christian Heavy Metal. It's and oxymoron, a Catch-22. It doesn't work, and it's not cool. Everyone thinks Underoath is sooo cool. Well, how come they haven't broken the 500,000 album mark? NWOCHM is retarded, and shouldn't be considered in metal anthropology. (See Sam Dunn's; Metal: A Headbangers Journey).

I respect bands like As I Lay Dying, they're just Christians in a metal band, (which still is kind of an oxymoron), but duddee? POD? Zao? no.

"its not an oxymornon at all.. who ever said that ALL heavy metal was satanic or something? "
The guys who INVENTED IT- Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath. Also Led Zepplin. The "rock on" hand salute is also known as "satans salute'' and was invented by black sabbaths second singer, Ronnie James Dio. Bands have gotten heavier in heavy metal, now there are bands like slipknot, cannibal corpse, and lamb of god (formerly called Burn the Preist) taking over the reigns. I am open minded. I listen all kinds of music from The Beatles, to Smashing Pumpkins to Pantera, to Nickelback, to Slayer and the Villains. And the foo fighters. It's like we (heavy metal) have a cool party with our tight knit of friends watching Dawn of the Dead, and you guys come in (Christians) and want to watch my little pony.

I don't think 'Christian Heavy Metal' is an oxymoron. It would only be an oxymoron if 'heavy metal' were essentially "devil music", or "satanic music." And it isn't. Heavy Metal is a *musical* genre and it is compatible with many different kinds of lyrics.

On the other hand, I do think that Christian Metal is - across the board - crap. Art isn't about *preaching*. And it isn't about being *safe* and inoffensive. Art is supposed to challenge you, not to pamper your prejudices or to flatter your faith.

Christian metal is not neccesarelly an Oxymoron

Zao and Tournequet are Christian metal bands..They're both decent

Underoath isnt metal, they just suck..

Having lots of fans, and lots of albums sold dosent make you good, ussually the best music stays in the underground

Meh..reguardless of the Christian metal bands that exist, most of the best metal is stuff like Burzum, Gorgoroth, 1349, T3CHN0PH0B1A, Pantera is pretty good..etc
Meh..I listen to more industrial anyway

they havent broken the 500,000 mark because of close minded people like you. and did the word christian ever appear to you, that maybeeee theyre not worried about it. they just want people to listen to it and understand and learn about Christ. its not an oxymornon at all.. who ever said that ALL heavy metal was satanic or something? 1/2 has nothing to do with satan... and by the way underoath isnt "heavy metal" at all.
christian heavy metal is as its said.... be more open minded
