What happened to great songs and music artists of yesteryear????

Lead Zeplon, Elvis, Metallica, Pink Floyd, Nirvana all the 60'2 70's and 80's artists.

Well current muscians are not on the drugs like the good old days. Current muscians apart from Madonna are more worried about money, and when they hit the big time they phase out pretty quickly too. They are more like script reader then artists. Most cant even write their own songs or lyrics.

I just wish we could get music that has flavour and is relative like the 60's 70's and 80's. Because those eras rocked. Rock on, viva Pearl Jam

Music and people's choices of music genre"s is constantly in flux.......changing, more creative , evolving.etc....

I agree , some of the music mentioned above was great , but I personally did not like some of the choices above.

So , Music is driven by creativeness , an audience to listen , promotion , $$$$$ ,and the general public's need to identify with the style, sound and look of the artist......

Well I have to tell you first it's Led Zepplin but good question, I ask myself that all the time being a musician from yester-year (70s). We didnt have the technology than they have now, we had to work alot harder to make the good sounds. Now days there are alot of bands out there and I do mean alot who have good sound but no talent (and it really shows)!

Listen to Metal, theres always something new, amazing and memorable on the horizon. But dude, Zepplin? Stairway to heaven was THE ****, but ALL, of their other stuff sucked complete ass.
