Google lacks the personal touch. Often I need an answer from a real person not an expert in the field. Those who have actual experience doing something are often more valuable than those who talk about it for a living.

Google will give you the links and you have to find the answer by searching the links and it is not always the case that you'll get what you looking for.

At Yahoo answers you'll get a proper answer of your question and if not you'll get some related links which will help you searching your answer.

Search engines don't necessarily give "answers" but links to information. My personal example of this is when I decided to find out what happens whenever you drink heavy water (long story why I wanted to know). It took me lots of reading on lots of sites to get a good idea of the answer. This was many years ago, though, before there was wikipedia, and other good info out there.

Although this site is intended for finding the answers to questions, it seems to be changing in to somewhere to put your views, and see how others respond.

Winding up Americans and Religious nuts is another reason for being here.

GREAT QUESTION ... I think it's split right down the middle... many people are bored and are looking to help other people and are really looking to help, or be helped, especially those requiring IMMEDIATE GRATIFICATION, gotta know the answer right now...

And the others, they are here for pure entertainment purposes, to aask and answer DUMB questions, just to get people's reactions .. what is it we call them... TROLLs?
