looking for a location in holland?

i am trying to track down my baptismal record but the only information i have to go on is "Rine Straat, Woerden, Holland." Only thing is "Rine Straat" does not seem to excist. I'm at a dead end here. I have searched the net for all sorts of maps of Holland and Woerden. Can any one help?

Wow you guys, you really know your stuff. Anyway i checked out the maps but what im looking for is a church on rijnstraat. I'm living in Ireland so i'm afraid i can't catch a train there. I did come across Sint Pietersteeg and sint Jansteeg but how will i know?

It's a common thing that happens in translations :)

The Rine is a river in Holland, we Dutchies name it "De Rijn", pronounced exactly the same.

The correct street is Rijnstraat in Woerden. Every address in Holland also has a 'postcode', I think Americans name it zipcode. It depends on in which part of the street you live.

For Rijnstraat (one word) in Woerden, that would be:
even numbers:
3441 BT for numbers 2 t/m 30
3441 BV for numbers 32 t/m 66

uneven numbers (I think the English word is 'uneven', not sure, sorry..I mean the numbers 1,3,5,7,9,etc)
3441 BP for numbers 1 t/m 49
3441 BR for numbers 51 t/m 79
3441 BS for numbers 81 t/m 117

It's not easy to find a good map of Woerden, it's not a big town.

here is a more detailed map. I had to find an address in the Rijnstraat, so I chose the most common last name in Holland (jansen), and I found one in this telephone book with maps:

Is it possible that it could be RijnStraat. Woerden is in Utrecht Netherlands. I live about 2 hours from there. I did a search for Rine and found nothing but there is RijnStraat. If you go to http://www.mapquest.com click on directions. In the lower left corner of the section to put a starting address you will see the word "europe" click on that. To make things easy, choose germany from the drop down and in the zip code put 52525. (thats my local information) in the destination area choose Netherlands and in the address type in Rijn Straat. In the city type in Woerden. This will bring up the directions from my town to Woerden. At the bottom of the page is an interactive map. Keep clicking on the area where Woerden is and the map will keep zooming in until you can actually see the streets. I have put the link for the directions, but if it doesn't work, just follow the directions I gave you.

you can get a train from Amsterdam to Worden it takes about 30 Min's if you can get there your best bet is to go to the local town hall you will find them very helpful or try emailing [e-mail] this is the tourist office there that address to put it simple is info at v v v woerden dot nl
