I have UT at Austin, SMU, TCU and NYU that I wish to attend. I wish to either become a screenwriter or playwright. NYU would be my first choice, but I might not be able to afford it. I do have very good grades and am highly active in theatre. I know early decision is binding. What should I pick?

I would actually disagree with the previous poster who suggested doing early decision because it may allow you to negotiate costs. Because early decision is binding and you must attend, the school has no incentive to offer you a scholarship or anything like that. It's not to say that they won't offer a scholarship, but because many schools make these offers in order to encourage students to chose their institution, it is less likely since they would already have your commitment.

If you really want to go to NYU, call them up and ask them about what their policy is for someone in your situation who really wants to go but who doesn't know if the finances will fall into place. Do they have an early action program or is it only early decision? Because early action is nonbinding, that might be a better option

Good luck!

If you do NYU early decision, you wouldn't be able to negotiate your costs and maybe afford it. Plus, there is a fee for dropping if you hesitate. So I would go for regular, which my brother did, even if the admission rates are slightly higher. Go for NYU dude, it rocks!

properly if that is the only it truly is going to grant the most funds, you're going to finally end up going to UT or UNT. you're going to get advantage-depending scholarships, in-state classes, besides as monetary aide.
