How can my 8th grade friend (female) convince her mother to take her to Aeropostale, American Eagle, etc. Those kind of stores next time she goes shopping-which is in a long time. She likes those styles and doesn't find anything wrong with them. Her mom hasn't been there before, she doesn't exactly know the stores/brands.
Don't ask questions, plz just answer my question and give suggestions for her.

What if her mom thinks it's too expensive and stuff? Or skin tight? Or...anything?

Well I know those stores well. Very cute. Very in style. I can understand why you would want your friend to shop there. BUT...I can also understand your friends mom NOT wanting to shop there. I have a hard time taking my daughter to buy a $80.00 pair of jeans. Especially when she will be in a diffrent size next year. She may have other siblings that need new clothes too. When you have a budget ..you have a budget. You may have better luck getting her to take her to Target or Old Navy. You can still find cute styles for a cheaper price.

Aeropostale and American Eagle are actually pretty cheap. In Europe we have to pay more than Abercrombie to get decent clothes. Its not like thoes stores only sell tight clothes, I mean in Aeropostal they sell sweaters with monkeys on them, and other childish designs, would her mother object to that? Why doesnt your friend show her the websites for thoes shops and show her mother what kind of clothes they sell, and just make sure she shows the monkey sweatheshirts or something like that.

just have her tell her mom that its rele important for her to shop there, and thats what she wants. Aeropostale is cheaper than american eagle but american eagle is cheaper than hollister and abercrombie. maybe have her tell her mom that aeropostale is the cheapest of all the stores she likes and see if she can get a few things from there to start out with so her mom can take more time to decide wether she wants her daughter wearing those kinds of clothes.

hope i could help you guys out!

be a thinking, rational adult in this situation. don't force the mother to go to these stores and everything. your friend should be polite and just gently guide her mom to those stores. if your friend has a good amount of clothes, honestly, what store you get them from doesn't matter as long as you have clothes that you still fit in. i am an eighth grader too and my mom frankly thinks that clothes shouldn't cost that much. if her mom thinks the same way, lead her straight to the sale section. if her mom thinks that the clothes aren't what she wants her daughter to wear, then you are stuck there. try to only show her things she will approve. maybe your friend needs a bit of independence as well. no matter what way you go, always be respectful and not pushy cuz that turns parents off to anything.

heres some steps:
-take her shopping with you and YOUR mom.
- go to the stores and buy some cute outfits(ones that you think your moms taste for you.... just for now tho ; )
- take the new clothes back to your friends house and when her mom asks you guys bought, model the new clothes you both bought from the stores for her
-when she sees the clothes, and they are "mom-friendly" she may say hey those are cute where did u get those from and voila, she'll be going in there in not time

Ok, mabey you could take her shopping with you and buy her something she likes just don't let her everything she wants. Then she go show her mom say mom do you like my clothes and if she likes them then she'll go next time. But Im not sure if that'll work! Thats all I can think of. Im sorry if this didn't work. ♥

why doesnt she print out some of the styles from the websites and show her mom casually some of the things that she likes. she could show her mom the prices and talk about how the clothing is good quality and comfortable.

Well, if her mom's never been there, just have her explain to her mom why she likes those stores and ask her to go just once and look at what they sell.

she could look up the website on the computer and show her the clothes. and tell her that she wants to change her style to something she likes better.
