It's pretty obvious that some questions are just for a bit of fun or light hearted banter, yet some people are just so serious.

Is this a serious question, or just some light-hearted banter?

I once asked a rediculous question on here (I was with some friends) and I'd say that 95% of the people gave me a serious answer. One guy even wrote an answer that had to be at least 15 typed pages long. No sense of humor whatsoever. That's ok, I laughed enough for all of them when I read the answers.

I noticed the same thing when I asked a couple of questions in fun just to get people's responses. I guess some people are so full of themselves they wouldn't understand humour if it bit them on the a**!!!!

Beats me. I like unusual questions that challenge the norm, but what really gets my goat is when someone answers with "I've never seen such a stupid question".

I think it's down to narrow mindedness, which, unfortunately, seems more prevalent in the United States of America than anywhere else.

That'll be 10 points deducted, then.

I totally agree. I answered a question tonight for someone - took the time to get the answer from the net and got four thumbs down - great - that's what you get for being kind! I love some of the querky jokes and questions. keep em coming

Some people want to know answers and not joke, otherwise they would go on a dating site or go out, but I am not biased, and I can see what you're saying, I think it's because people cannot lighten up, you say one thing and they'll either agree or bite your head off..there's never an in-between!

I think it is because they have lost a sense of balance because they do not listen to BBC 7 Digital enough, and thus are humour deprived.
And they take themselves far too seriously.

All humour is outlawed by Blair. Did you never read George Orwell?

I think a good word to describe these people would be zealots and not just of the religious nature.
