how do you delete your history?

I know theres a history button but everytime you go somewhere it post a cookie on servers/somthing like that how do you delete your history more than the history button at the top?

For Internet explorer:
1. open your internet browser
2. open tools on the menu bar up top
3. open internet options
4. on the general tab you should see a "delete" button for cookies, history, and temp files.
